I have finally finished my book. It took me some time till I made it but now I am happy I am done with it!!
So, what I have done...
First of all, I made the cover. I knew from the beginning that I want one of my images to be on the cover. I chose the one that I like the most. I tried to find a place to write my name and the name of my book/project. The only place where I thought it would look good was above her right shoulder. That ray of light made my job easier. Like I said before I chose 2 fonts so that people don't get confused when looking at my cover. Also, the font of the name of the project is more elegant and I think it goes well with the photos. The other font is more like handwriting. Done the same thing to the book spine with the same fonts.
I don't need a table of contents because I don't have more projects in the book. There is only one so that's why I made that first page with the name of the book, my name with the copyright sign. Then, I added a page with "About the project". On the right I put like a collage going down with images that I didn't use. Then, on a blank page I added like a introduction to the book, used a quotes from Yves Saint Laurent that I thought suits the images.
Then, I started to use all my photos, to arrange them in page. Like I said, I used 2 photos per set with 2-3 exceptions: for 3 sets I made like a collage, using 3 images. Some of them are on the right of the page or left, others in a full page, others in a collage. I arranged them so that they look good. There is not like a story about the photos being arranged like that.It was only like it looks good on half of a page, let's leave it there. After I finished with my photos, I went back to write the page numbers and the header. It was the same with the page numbers and header. If I thought it goes well, then I would put it there.
I didn't add any text because I thought that I don't need one. There are already a lot of images, adding text would only make the book look full. I had 2 images in landscape so those one I decided to spread them over 2 pages.
I left blank pages so that you have a time to breath before looking at the next set.
At the end, I added a page with the names of all the girls that helped me with the project and I thanked all of them for all the help.
AND that's it with my book. I can't wait to get it. I am exciteeeeed!!!!

First page
So then there's the page with my name and copyright and possibly a logo.
the logo is just an example...I wanted to see how it looks with a logo, it's not my final one.
Book Cover
I think that's the best place to put the text. I don't want it to be big. I want it to be small and nice. Also, in terms of the font I wanted something elegant. I chose 2 types of fonts because I do not want viewers to get confused. I want the name of the book to be clear. Also, the font has the same style as the photos.
The book is called Make me look pretty! because the same dress is worn by 9 girls and it's about wearing the dress so that it looks good on the girls! It's like the dress's "'voice" saying that.
Then, I did the same thing for the book spine.
And this is the final cover.
Then...
I am gonna start by making the cover. I have chosen the best image of the series, the one that I like the most.
The name of the project is: Make me look pretty! So I have to put that together with my name on the cover somewhere. Definitely not on the bottom or on her sweater. I was thinking about the area above her right shoulder and definitely black for the text.

First step
Right so I need to choose my images. I am gonna use the images taken for my last project with the dress:
I have got 9 final photos but 40 others. I can't use all of them...if I use 2 for each set that would be 18 photos..so around 18 pages plus other blank pages...we'll see...let's choose the images.
Back to business...
So I have spent all these days to do some research on photo books. I have found all sorts of books with all sorts of layouts that I was inspired or not by. I think it's time for me to start making my book. I am very curious about my final book. Looking forward to it!!!

Tim Walker: Story Teller
"Tim Walker is one of fashion photography’s most original eyes
This exceptional and beautifully designed overview of a career caught in mid-flow reveals just how much one man’s singular vision has influenced contemporary tastes in fashion, beauty, glamour and portraiture."
This is the cover of the book. Usually, when you have images with skies that is the right place to add text because it won't affect anything unless the sky is the main focus point in the photo.
Table of contents: if you have more chapters in your book it is recommended that you have a table of contents. But, in my case I won't need one as I will only use images from one project.
some text again prob about the image
This is the back cover. I think this is the best option when you don't want to have too much in your book.
White simple and clear. My back cover will definitely be the same.
I absolutely love Tim Walker. I went to Somerset House last year to see his exhibition and I was speechless, he is so insane but in a good way. I literally don't know from where he's got all those ideas. He's a genius!! One of the best out there!!!
VOGUE: The Editor's Eye
"This gorgeous tome celebrates the pivotal role the Vogue fashion editor has played in shaping America’s sense of style since the magazine’s launch 120 years ago. Drawing on Vogue’s exceptional archive, this book focuses on the work of eight of the magazine’s legendary fashion editors (including Polly Mellen, Babs Simpson, and Grace Coddington) who collaborated with photographers, stylists, and designers to create the images that have had an indelible impact on the fashion world and beyond. Featuring the work of world-renowned photographers and model/muses, The Editor’s Eye is a lavishly illustrated look at the visionary editors whose works continue to reverberate in the culture today."
RED, bold written on top of the image. I like the fact that it does not affect the image at all. It looks so elegant and professional!!!
When it comes to fashion books, usually the images are spread over a page. In these 2 images there is also text but I suppose the text is about the clothes in the image or who's the model/photographer etc. It looks nice!!
